Livery

Great Bookham Equestrian Centre offers a full range of livery services in a ‘friendly professional’ yard. Our no. 1 priority is, of course, your horse’s care and we pride ourselves on our standards of horse management, but we also remember that you are an individual and want to enjoy your time with your horse.

We offer care packages to suit every lifestyle and budget, our liveries enjoy individual attention from the ‘own’ groom and a well-organised yard run by professional, year round turnout on incredibly well drained pasture in spacious or petite (depending on your horse’s need and weight/medical restrictions) paddocks in pairs or individually, a choice of 3 schools including an indoor and easy access to miles of brilliant hacking. To back up our professional services we welcome any vet, farrier, physiotherapist and freelance instructor, liveries often share visits to keep costs down and we arrange a comprehensive worming programme and dentist visits.

We host in-house training session, visits, talks and clinics and arrange trips to other local training facilities for lessons. Our Livery Club covers the social side of things, with regular fun get-togethers and sometimes just drinks down the pub after riding!

Our yard is fully secure with staff living on-site 24/7, 365 and a full alarm system covering the tack room, rug and equipment storage areas, offices and rest rooms. On-site staff respond any time an alarm is set off no matter what time of the night, the alarmed buildings have never been compromised and we even know about every wayward spider!

Great Bookham Show Centre is a busy summer showground, providing competition in dressage, show jumping and showing as well as occasional clinics with expert instructors. We welcome all types of competitor from first time through to those wanting to qualify for national championships. We offer a vast range of chances to qualify for all sorts of championships in every discipline.

Full Livery

Full livery is a comprehensive service including all daily care, full daily grooming, trimming as necessary, exercising and tack cleaning.

Part Livery

Part livery includes daily care: turnout, mucking out, catching in, basic grooming, re-rug as necessary and of course, feed, hay and bedding. In addition you can book for individual exercising or full grooming and if you go on holiday, you can ‘upgrade’ to full livery while you’re away and we’ll take care of everything.

DIY

DIY includes use of a stable and field and all yard and riding facilities. We assist DIYs regularly by turning out and catching in and we are happy to assist with mucking out, finishing up or take full care of your horse while you’re on holiday.

Grass Livery

Enjoy the benefits of your horse living 24/7 in the field, with natural shelter and our experienced staff to oversee their welfare daily. We check every day, give hay in winter and we can catch in or turn out for you if you need assistance. Grass liveries also benefit from full use of the schools and support system of the yard.

Our Facilites

Facilities include 3 schools, one indoor with ‘Martin Collins’ waxed sand surface, an outdoor 20x40m sand and rubber surface and another outdoor 20x60m sand and fibre surface, 2 jumping paddocks, fantastic hacking with no need for roadwork and 80 acres of pasture.

Our Team

Staff & Liveries Our team of staff each look after ‘their own’ horses, so they know all the intricate details about your horse’s needs. The yard is well known for our friendly and inclusive attitude – our liveries are automatically members of the GBEC Riding Club and enjoy spending time at the yard and taking part in our Club, competitive and social events. We have a great mix of livery owners – from happy hackers to serious competitors, both unaffiliated and affiliated, in every discipline.
